Terms of Service

1. Agreement and eligibility

By creating an account or using Readify, you agree to these Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, and the Community and Content Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be at least 13 years old and able to enter this agreement under the laws that apply to you. If local law requires a higher age or a parent or guardian’s authorization, that requirement also applies. Readify is not offered in the App Store Kids category or under Google Play’s Families programme. Do not use Readify on behalf of an organization unless you have authority to bind it.

2. What Readify provides

Readify is a read-to-unlock habit app for iPhone and Android. Readers join multi-day challenges, complete a daily reading, and answer a recall question. With app-blocking access granted, Readify can hold your other apps behind today’s reading until the server confirms either a credited pass or, for eligible short-answer recalls, the explicit two-attempt mercy outcome.

The two platforms enforce that hold with different operating-system mechanisms, described in section 4. Both apps use the same account, the same challenges, and the same server; a challenge you join on one is the challenge you continue on the other.

A credited pass earns challenge progress. A mercy outcome releases the shield without XP, streak, completion, or leaderboard credit. Missing content, unavailable authorization, or an invalid lock policy may cause Readify to fail open.

The v1 pilot is free and has no in-app purchase or subscription runtime. We do not promise that the pilot, creator access, any particular challenge, any particular platform, or every feature will always remain available.

3. Accounts and profile information

You can create an email-and-password account through Firebase Authentication on either platform. On iPhone you can also use Sign in with Apple; on Android you can also use Google Sign-In. Sign in with Apple is not offered on Android—if you created your account that way, use the “Forgot password” link on the sign-in screen to add a password to the same account, then sign in with it. Provide accurate profile information, protect your sign-in credentials, and tell us promptly if you believe your account is compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law says otherwise.

One person must not manipulate progress, leaderboards, generation quotas, invitation codes, reports, or creator approval through multiple accounts, automation, reverse engineering, or false information.

Shared challenge membership uses a server-generated per-challenge reader alias rather than your personal profile name or photo. Members and creators may see that alias and your challenge progress. If you publish a challenge, your creator display name and public challenge metadata may be visible to signed-in users in Discover.

4. App blocking is your choice and is not safety-critical

You choose whether to grant the permissions that let Readify hold your apps, and you can withdraw them at any time in your device’s system settings. Operating-system changes, permissions, schedules, connectivity, app state, device power management, or service failures can prevent, delay, or clear a hold. Do not rely on Readify to prevent access to dangerous, illegal, costly, or inappropriate content or actions.

On iPhone

Readify asks for Apple Screen Time authorization. If granted, the shield can cover application categories Apple exposes through Family Controls. Apple controls system behavior and exceptions. You can decline authorization and still use the rest of the app, and you can change it in iOS Settings.

On Android

Readify asks for two special permissions in Android’s system settings: usage access, so it can tell which app is in front, and permission to display over other apps, so the reading screen can come back when a paused app is opened. It also runs a foreground service while a lock is in force, which Android shows as a permanent notification, and it may ask—optionally—for exact alarms so the lock lands at the minute you agreed to.

While a lock is in force, Readify pauses the app in front unless it is Readify itself, your launcher, your phone app, your default emergency app, your messaging app, the Android system settings app, the Android system interface, or your current keyboard. Web browsers are paused on Android, which is a deliberate difference from iPhone. If Readify cannot confidently identify an app, it does not pause it.

Because there is nothing to pause without those two permissions, Android requires them before you can join a challenge. You can decline them, use the rest of the app, and grant them later. Revoking either one in Settings → Apps → Special app access ends the lock immediately.

On both platforms

Keep the ability to manage your device through its own system settings; Readify never holds back the system settings app, the phone app, the default emergency app, or your home screen. Readify includes fail-open behavior—if today’s reading, your authorization, or a trustworthy lock policy is unavailable, it opens rather than holds—and a two-attempt mercy release for eligible short-answer recalls, because a reading app must not trap you behind unavailable content. Leaving the challenge in Record → Settings also ends its lock schedule.

5. Challenges and creator content

Readify includes content submitted or published by users. Creators keep ownership of material they lawfully own. By submitting content, you grant TMS DIGITAL SRL a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, process, adapt for technical display, distribute to the audience you select, moderate, and remove that content as needed to operate and protect Readify. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for limited copies retained where legally required or in provider technical systems.

You represent that you own or have permission to use every title, description, source, reading, question, answer, image, trademark, and other element you submit. You must obtain any required consent before including another person’s information. Do not publish confidential, infringing, deceptive, harmful, or age-restricted material.

Creators do not automatically join their own challenges. Creator and public-publishing access is controlled by server approval. We may review, refuse, unlist, pause, correct, or remove content and may suspend creator access when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms or protect users.

Other users may report content or block a creator. Blocking affects that reader’s discovery experience; it does not by itself decide whether content violates policy. Readify applies automated OpenAI safety screening to creator-generation input and output, before challenge publication at any visibility, and before a day correction is saved; flagged content or an unavailable/invalid screening result is rejected. No filter is perfect, so screening does not replace creator review, user reports, or operator enforcement, and we do not promise that user or AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable.

6. AI-assisted generation

Approved creators may submit a topic or extracted text from a PDF or TXT file for generation through OpenAI. Creator prompts, generated programs, the exact draft submitted for publication at any visibility, creator identity included with a challenge, and later corrections may also be sent to OpenAI for automated safety screening. You direct that processing when you use creator features. Do not submit secrets, sensitive personal data, unlawful material, or content you lack permission to share with OpenAI.

AI output can be wrong, biased, incomplete, or inappropriate. The creator is responsible for reviewing every generated reading, recall question, and accepted answer before publication and for correcting or removing material that should not be used. Readify’s technical validation is not a factual, legal, medical, educational, or copyright review.

7. Acceptable use

You must follow the Community and Content Policy. You must not:

• harass, threaten, exploit, discriminate against, impersonate, or expose private information about another person;
• publish hate, sexual exploitation, graphic violence, self-harm encouragement, dangerous misinformation, scams, malware, spam, or unlawful material;
• infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, database, or other rights;
• probe, bypass, overload, scrape, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to Readify, its invitation codes, answer keys, server rules, accounts, or provider systems;
• forge reading outcomes, quiz results, creator approval, reports, or leaderboard data;
• use Readify or generated output to make high-stakes medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions without qualified review; or
• help anyone else do any of the above.

8. Readify intellectual property

Readify’s software, product design, brand, documentation, and operator-created materials are owned by TMS DIGITAL SRL or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended personal or approved creator purpose. They do not transfer ownership or permit you to copy, resell, sublicense, or create a competing service from protected Readify materials.

Third-party software and services remain subject to their own licenses and terms.

9. Account deletion, suspension, and termination

You can delete your account inside Readify under Record → Settings → Delete Account, on either platform. Recent authentication may be required. The deletion removes account-linked backend data as described in the Privacy Policy and Data Deletion guide.

Deleting a creator account deletes challenges created by that account and may remove access and progress projections for other challenge members. Before deleting, export or retain any creator material you need outside Readify.

We may restrict or terminate access, unlist or delete content, or protect the service when we reasonably believe these terms, law, security, or another person’s rights require it. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will consider context and allow an opportunity to contact us.

10. Service and term changes

We may maintain, change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the pilot. We may also update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide appropriate notice and state when the new terms apply. Continuing to use Readify after the effective date means you accept the updated terms where permitted by law.

11. Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Readify is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, perfect shielding, error-free content, factual accuracy, a particular learning result, or preservation of every challenge.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TMS DIGITAL SRL is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, loss of data, lost opportunity, or reliance on user or AI-generated content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

You are responsible for lawful use of your device, source materials, and published content. If your unlawful content or conduct causes a third-party claim, you may be responsible for resulting losses to the extent permitted by law.

12. Applicable law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable to TMS DIGITAL SRL, without overriding mandatory consumer protections or dispute rights available where you live. Any dispute will be handled by the competent courts determined under applicable law.
